"1. offizieller RuHH 100" - Ultramarathonlauf und Extremwanderung
About the Event
The RuHH 100 Ultramarathon and Extreme Hike on Hamburg's Second Green Ring is set to challenge endurance athletes with its unique blend of winter conditions, community spirit, and scenic routes. Scheduled for December 5, 2026, this event marks the first official iteration of what has been a tradition among friends over five previous years. The race offers both a grueling 100 km distance and a more manageable yet still challenging 50 km option. Participants will start at Anleger Rüschpark in Hamburg's Finkenwerder district, where they can also pick up their numbers and drop bags before the event begins. Drop bags are essential as runners make their way through various weather conditions—expect everything from rain to cold winds that characterize Northern Germany’s winter climate. The route follows Hamburg's Second Green Ring, a scenic path known for its natural beauty and urban charm. Along the 100 km course, there will be approximately five aid stations spaced roughly every 20 kilometers, providing runners with necessary sustenance and hydration. For those who prefer to self-sustain, there are numerous bakeries, kiosks, and fueling stations along the way. The event concludes at Anleger Teufelsbrück in Altona, where participants will be greeted by organizers and fellow competitors alike. Drop bags collected from Finkenwerder can be retrieved here upon finishing, allowing runners to rest or head back to their accommodation with ease. Organized by GEO°BOUND UG through feinerlauf.de, the race is led by experienced event directors Oliver Witzke and Patrick Jeschak. For more information, contact info.feinerlauf@web.de or visit www.feinerlauf.de. Traveling to and from the start location can be conveniently managed using public transportation via Hamburg's HVV app, which offers detailed routes including ferry services that are crucial for navigating this unique course layout. Parking is available near the starting point hotel at Hein-Saß-Weg 40 in Finkenwerder (21129). The RuHH 100 Ultramarathon and Extreme Hike promises a memorable experience, blending the thrill of competition with the camaraderie found among endurance runners. Braving winter conditions on one of Germany’s most picturesque routes is an adventure not to be missed by any serious runner or hiker looking for a unique challenge. Participation in this event requires official approval from relevant authorities and organizers reserve the right to make changes based on prevailing regulations and safety considerations.

About Hamburg
Learn more about the host city, Hamburg.
The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city and, at the same time, one of Germany's 16 federal states or Bundesländer. Prior to the formation of the modern German state, Hamburg for centuries enjoyed a status as de facto independent city state and regional power and trade hub in the North Sea. Although situated over 100 km (62 mi) upriver from the North Sea on the Elbe, Hamburg has been one of Europe's most important ports for centuries, as reflected in its full name referencing the Hanseatic League. The city was built on the confluence of the Elbe with a smaller tributary, and much of the southern bank of the Elbe is today occupied by an enormous seaport.
