10th Annual R.E.D. 5k Run/Walk

The 10th Annual R.E.D. 5k Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 8:30 AM EDT starting from Hare Pavilion on the Wilmington Riverfront (located behind the AAA Buildings) in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. Sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter, this event supports Reaching Educational Dreams (R.E.D.) – providing educational and cultural enrichment opportunities for deserving students across Wilmington and New Castle County.

Event Logistics and Participant Information:

• Registration Opens: 7:30 AM on race day.
• Warm-Up: 8:00 AM.
• Race Start: 8:30 AM.
• Amenities: T-shirts to registrants (only guaranteed until May 18), post-race refreshments, and a finisher medal for the first 275 finishers of the in-person event.
• Timing: R2R Timing will chip time using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System. Gun time determines overall and masters winners; chip (net) time determines all other age group awards.
• Awards: Overall male/female. Overall male/female masters. Top 3 male/female in 10-year age groups from 18 through 70 & over. Top 3 male/female competitive walkers.
• Results: Posted online during the race, with complete results posted after the race concludes.
• Photos: Posted online after the race.
• Sponsorship Opportunities: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum sponsorship levels are available.
• Policies: No dogs allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable. Strollers are welcome. No refunds on registrations.
• Benefits: The R.E.D. Run supports educational and cultural enrichment opportunities for deserving students across Wilmington and New Castle County.
• Participants: 26 participants currently registered.

Route and Atmosphere:

• Scenic Setting: The start and finish are at Hare Pavilion on the Wilmington Riverfront, located on the riverwalk behind the AAA Buildings – offering beautiful waterfront views.
• Competitive Walking Category: A dedicated competitive 5k walk category for participants who walk the entire race (no running or jogging permitted). Those who plan to run/walk must register for the regular 5K run/walk category.
• Virtual Option: Participants can join virtually from anywhere, supporting the cause remotely.
• 10th Anniversary: Celebrating a decade of Reaching Educational Dreams through community running and walking.
• Mission-Driven: All proceeds support scholarships and educational programs for deserving students in Wilmington and New Castle County.
• Community & Sorority Leadership: Sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Wilmington Alumnae Chapter – a community-focused organization dedicated to public service.
• Spectator Experience: Friends and family can cheer participants along the riverfront course and enjoy post-race refreshments at Hare Pavilion.
