About the Event

The Bridgewater Police 5k & 1mi Kids Fun Run returns for its twelfth year on September 26, 2026, offering runners the chance to explore historic downtown Bridgewater. This scenic and flat course is perfect for both competitive racers and casual participants looking to enjoy a leisurely run through picturesque streets.
The event kicks off at the Bridgewater Police Station with registration beginning Friday, September 25 from 5:00-8:00pm or on race morning starting at 7:00am. Participants can also register in person for available spots up until race day. Bib pick-up will be held both days at the same location.
The fun begins promptly at 8:30 am with the kids' one-mile run, followed by the main event—the 5k—at 9:00 am. Both races start and finish at the police station, making it easy for families to participate together while ensuring that children are accompanied throughout the race.
All registered participants in the 5k will receive a commemorative t-shirt if they register early enough (by August 14), with sizes limited after this date due to capacity constraints. The course is now certified by USATF, adding an official touch for competitive runners aiming for personal bests or qualifying times.
Following the race, at around 9:45 am, there will be raffles and awards ceremonies where finishers can celebrate their achievements with fellow participants and supporters. Every runner who crosses the line receives a medal as proof of participation, while children in the fun run receive ribbons to mark their accomplishment.
The primary beneficiary for this year's event is Plymouth County Critical Incident Stress Management Team (PC CISM), which focuses on providing support services to first responders and frontline professionals through peer counseling, education, and training. By participating, runners contribute directly to a cause that supports those who serve the community daily.
