13th Annual Turkey Trot OC 5K

The sun is just beginning to rise over the city of Tustin on Thanksgiving morning when participants gather for this beloved annual event. With its picturesque setting in Southern California, the race offers a unique blend of community spirit and competitive spirit under an orange sky. The air on that special day is crisp with hints of fall, as runners lace up their shoes and prepare to take part in what has become Tustin's Thanksgiving tradition.
This year marks the 13th edition of the Turkey Trot OC 5K, a race that not only brings together thousands but also stands for something greater. Since its inception, this event has been dedicated to ending homelessness one step at a time. Every participant contributes to the cause by running or walking in support of families and individuals seeking shelter.
Course & Conditions
The course is designed along Tustin's historic roadways, weaving through neighborhoods that have seen many changes over the years but remain rich with history and community spirit. Runners will experience a mix of hard and dry surfaces as they navigate the five-kilometer path. The route features gentle hills and scenic views, making for an invigorating run on Thanksgiving morning.
Starting at 1 Hope Drive, runners will be greeted by enthusiastic volunteers who'll usher them to the start line with encouragement. The course layout ensures a seamless experience from start to finish, including aid stations every two kilometers along the way where water, Gatorade, and snacks are available for those in need of a quick pick-me-up.

LOGISTICS
Registration is now closed online; day-of registration opens at 6:30 am. Visit https://runsignup.com/Race/CA/Tustin/TurkeyTrotOC5K to sign up early or on race morning, as space permits. Fees are $35 for participants over the age of three.
Packets can be picked up in advance from Monday, November 24th and Tuesday, November 25th between 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm at 1 Hope Drive or on race day from 6:30 am until just before the start. Make sure to bring your packet pickup confirmation email.
Start at 8:00 am with age requirements starting at three years old, including strollers. First-timers are welcome and encouraged to join in for a memorable experience!
