Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is a combined-town in Rhineland-Palatinate. As the name suggests, it is made up of two towns: the spa town of Bad Neuenahr, and the picturesque old town of Ahrweiler. Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is one of the largest towns in the red-wine producing Ahr Valley, with vineyards covering the hillsides. In June of 2021 a terrible flood hit this region, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. The rebuilding is progressing as of 2025, looking forward to welcoming guests again, but with the catastrophe and the politics surrounding it, remaining a sensitive topic.
