Running enthusiasts and music lovers unite for an unforgettable endurance challenge at the heart of the city. The 6-hour Run & Roll offers participants the unique opportunity to push their limits while enjoying live DJ sets, vibrant crowds, and plenty of support from fellow runners and spectators. The course is a compact yet engaging loop that stretches approximately 1.4 kilometers around town, providing an ideal setting for sustained effort without losing sight of the fun atmosphere. The route features a special indoor passage where participants can enjoy additional ambiance and entertainment as they power through their laps. This innovative setup ensures that runners never feel stuck in repetitive motion but instead are immersed in a dynamic environment. Participants have two options: compete individually over six hours or form teams to take on an estafette format for the same duration, starting at 10 AM sharp after individual competitors begin at 6 AM. The event is limited to just 150 runners across both formats, ensuring a personalized and intimate experience. For those who complete the full six-hour run individually, there are exciting prizes up for grabs. Top three female finishers receive cash awards of €75, €60, and €50 respectively, while male participants earn similar sums plus an additional personalized trophy if they place first. In addition to these monetary rewards, all individual competitors will be treated with a bottle of cava upon completion. Teams also have plenty of incentives to strive for top performance. The best female teams in the six-hour estafette division are rewarded with 24 bottles of WUK or Cava and an additional set of six bottles along with other prizes based on their placement among different categories such as seniors, mixed groups, companies, sports clubs, youth movements, and local Aalterse teams. Similarly, male team winners receive the same generous prize package. To cater to young participants under 18 years old who may not partake in alcohol-related rewards, organizers have arranged for non-alcoholic alternatives ensuring everyone can enjoy their achievements without any restrictions. With its lively atmosphere and diverse competition options, this event promises a memorable day of running, music, and community spirit. Whether you're an experienced athlete looking to test your endurance or simply someone who enjoys the camaraderie of group activities, there's something here for every type of runner. Participants are encouraged to arrive early at 5 PM on competition day to secure their spot in this exhilarating race that blends fitness with festive fun.
