15th Annual Breeze in the Trees 5k

On race day, August 8, 2026, join us for the 15th Annual Breeze in the Trees 5k run/walk in the heart of Sahuarita. The event takes place early morning when the pecan trees have their full canopy of leaves, though they are not yet ripe and ready for harvest; this provides a unique opportunity to explore the farm's orchards among the lush greenery. The community energy on race day is palpable as runners lace up and head out into the crisp summer air.
The 15th Annual Breeze in the Trees run begins at Green Valley Pecan Company, where participants will be greeted by a vibrant community atmosphere. As you step onto the course, notice how the early morning light filters through the dense canopy of trees casting dappled shadows on the ground below. The landscape is a mix of hard and dry dirt roads winding through the pecan orchards; the trail conditions are perfect for running with minimal mud or puddles.
The Breeze in the Trees 5k offers participants a chance to traverse the pecan orchards at various seasons, but this particular event takes place during summer. The course layout features several turns and twists as it weaves through rows of trees that provide natural shade from the sun's high rays. Start and finish lines are conveniently located near Green Valley Pecan Company, with multiple aid stations strategically placed along the route to ensure runners stay well fueled.
Weather-wise, August in Sahuarita can be quite warm; typical temperatures range between 24.9°C and 37.3°C with a comfortable average of 31.1°C on race day. The race benefits Walden Grove High School Marching Band, Sahuarita 4-H Club, and Sahuarita Sidewinders youth baseball team; your participation helps these local organizations thrive. Please note that dogs are not allowed on course during this event to ensure a safe environment for all runners.
