17TH HUFFIN' FOR PUMPKIN PIE 5K RUN & 1M WALK

Race day in Rehoboth Beach is typically crisp and cool, with the leaves changing into vibrant hues of orange and red. The morning light casts a golden glow over the coastal landscape as runners gather at The Grove Park for this beloved annual event. The community spirit is palpable, with participants ranging from seasoned athletes to families taking part in the 1M walk. It’s a race that has been running strong since its inception in 2010 and continues to grow each year.
The course takes you through firm and slightly soft terrain, starting at The Grove Park on Henlopen Avenue. The route is carefully laid out with two water stops strategically placed for hydration: one at the start/finish line (L#1) and another around the 3-mile mark (L#2). Portable toilets are also available at key points along the course to ensure comfort.
The morning of November 28, expect a mix of conditions that can range from cool breezes to mild warmth. The average temperature is 10.7°C with humidity levels around 65%. Rainfall averages just under two millimeters but it’s wise to pack layers as temperatures may feel slightly lower due to the wind chill factor at 16 km/h. The UV index, though low (2), still calls for sun protection.

Bib pickup is scheduled from 3-4:30 pm on Friday, November 27th, also at The Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach. Participants must make every effort to pick up their bibs and t-shirts before this date as guaranteed swag ends on the 20th of the same month.
The event starts promptly at 9 am from The Grove Park, with a limited “Last Chance” registration option until 7:30 am race day. All participants are encouraged to arrive early for line-up and final announcements starting at 8:50 am before the start. Age requirements range from young children in the 1M walk up to seasoned runners in the 5K event.
Awards will be presented during the ceremony that begins at 10:15 am, recognizing overall winners as well as top finishers across various age groups including 9 & under and above. The race concludes with a farmers market open from 11 am to provide additional community engagement post-race.
