The 17th Preungesheimer Dorflauf, set to take place on September 20, 2026, invites runners of all ages and abilities to experience the charm of Frankfurt's Sportpark Preungesheim. Organized by TV Preungesheim von 1880 e.V., this event offers a variety of distances suitable for everyone from young children to seasoned athletes. The day kicks off with a Bambinilauf at 10:00 AM, featuring a single lap around the track for kids born in 2019 through 2022. This is followed by a Schülerlauf starting at 10:15 AM, where students aged between 2015 and 2020 can choose to run either a one-mile course or stay with their peers on the shorter distance. For older participants, there are three main events beginning at 11:00 AM. The Jugendlauf offers both a 3km race for those born in 2011 through 2015 and a longer option of 5km open to runners aged 2014 and up. Additionally, the event features a challenging 10km route available to athletes from age 2012 onwards. The races take place on well-maintained asphalt roads that wind through picturesque Preungesheim's rural landscapes. The shorter distances provide an opportunity for families to enjoy a leisurely run around town and along Goldpeppingstraße, while the longer courses lead runners into fields and back towards the finish line at Sportpark Preungesheim. Participants can look forward to competitive racing conditions as well as fair recognition of their efforts. Bambinis receive commemorative medals upon completion, while those in the Schüler- und Jugendlauf will be awarded medals with top performers receiving additional accolades such as trophies for first-place finishes within age categories. Registration is open until September 18th at noon via online platforms; however, on-site registration remains available up to race day. Fees vary depending on when and what distance you register for but early bird discounts apply if registered by the deadline date. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy refreshments like water, fruit, coffee, cakes, sausages, pretzels, and non-alcoholic beverages provided in a relaxed atmosphere at the event venue. Results will be processed using an advanced chip timing system to ensure accurate times for all participants. This community-driven event not only celebrates athletic achievement but also fosters connections among locals who come together to support each other's endeavors on race day. Join us this September and become part of Preungesheim’s rich running tradition!
