(Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award, which recognizes outstanding students from Old Saybrook and Westbrook High Schools. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds supports the C. Wilfred Hunter Memorial Scholarship fund, aiding deserving college-bound seniors in achieving their academic goals.
The course itself is set on hard and dry pavement, offering runners an enjoyable yet challenging five-kilometer route. The race starts at Fort Saybrook Monument Park, where participants will be greeted by a flurry of excitement as they line up for the start. After crossing the finish line back at this same location, there are several aid stations along the way to provide water and energy gels for those who need them.

Bibs can be picked up from Marathon Sports in Old Saybrook between 4:00 and 6:00 PM on Friday, August 21nd or starting at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning.
