About the Event

The historic town of Alton, Illinois, hosts its annual Alton Miles for Meso on Saturday, September 19th. This year’s race offers both the traditional 5K run and an accessible fun walk option over 3 kilometers. Runners can participate in person or virtually, with virtual participants encouraged to share their experiences online using #MilesForMeso.
In-person registrants will receive a custom participation medal along with a moisture-wicking long-sleeve T-shirt and race bag filled with surprises. The event is proudly presented by Simmons Hanly Conroy and organized by the Metro Tri Club, ensuring an engaging experience for all participants.
Since 2009, Alton Miles for Meso has been dedicated to raising funds for mesothelioma cancer research and awareness. All proceeds from this year’s race will contribute significantly towards these vital causes, continuing a legacy of support that spans over a decade.
