About the Event

According to tradition, the missionary Francis Xavier passed through Hiji Town in the Sengoku period on his way to Funai to meet Otomo Sorin, and the route he took has been handed down as the Xavier Road. This walk follows scenic historic trails that he may well have seen himself, taking in nature and history and meeting local people along the way.
Three courses are offered: A (about 15 km), B (about 10 km) and C (about 5 km). Entry categories are elementary school, junior high school and high school or older.
