1ª MARIA DA PENHA RUN DE CASIMIRO DE ABREU - RJ

On December 6, 2026, runners and walkers will gather at the scenic Orla do Praião in Barra de São João for an uplifting race that celebrates life while raising awareness about violence against women. The event offers a unique blend of physical activity and community engagement, with both competitive and casual options to suit all levels.
Participants can choose from a 6 km run along picturesque coastal paths or a more relaxed 3 km walk through the beautiful Prainha da Capela area. For younger participants, there are fun races for kids at distances of 100 meters and 300 meters. The race starts promptly at 7 AM on December 6th.
The event is designed to foster a sense of well-being and unity among runners as they traverse the stunning coastal scenery. Security and medical services will be available throughout the course, ensuring that participants can focus fully on their experience without worry.
Registration for this inspiring run closes on November 5, 2026, with two pricing tiers offering discounts to groups and senior citizens or individuals with disabilities (PCD). All registrants receive a race kit including a shirt, bib number, bag, and medal upon completion of the event.
On December 4th and 5th, participants can pick up their kits at Gerônimo Gonçalves Street, No. 1531 in Leda from 9 AM to 5 PM. The awards ceremony will take place on Prainha da Capela where medals are given out for both the running and walking categories.
