2. Moselsteig-Etappenlauf

The Moselsteig-Etappenlauf is an ambitious 380-kilometer ultramarathon spread over eight days, from May 7 to May 14, 2027. This challenging race follows the scenic and well-marked Moselsteig trail, which winds along Germany's picturesque Moselle River from Perl to Koblenz.
The course offers a mix of forest paths, meadows, dirt trails, and steep staircases that traverse through vineyards and historic towns. Each day’s route covers around 45 kilometers with some sections stretching up to 55 kilometers, providing runners with breathtaking views of the Moselle Valley as they ascend and descend.
The race begins in Schengen, Luxembourg, on May 6th, where participants will have a briefing dinner at the Jugendherberge Remerschen. The following day marks the start of the first stage from Schengen to Wasserliesch. Over eight days, runners navigate through charming villages like Schweich and Wintrich before reaching Koblenz.
Notable highlights include an excursion on May 8th to Trier’s historic Porta Nigra gate. Accommodations are arranged in local hotels, youth hostels, and guesthouses throughout the route, ensuring comfortable stays after each day's run.
The event is designed for slower runners as well, with a pace limit of approximately 5.5 kilometers per hour, allowing participants to enjoy both the scenery and their own rhythm without feeling rushed. Daily support includes luggage transport from one accommodation to another, detailed track maps provided by Garmin and Komoot, and two feeding stations along each stage.
Participants can also look forward to hearty meals at local eateries and a comprehensive package that covers all overnight stays in double or triple rooms, breakfasts, lunches, and evening meal allowances. The registration fee for the full course is €1,390, which includes organization costs, accommodation, meals, luggage transport, GPS tracks, daily briefings, results lists, medals, and DUV (German Ultramarathon Association) entry.
