2026 CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot

Race day in Flemington, New Jersey, is a special occasion marked by the crispness of late fall. The CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot has been running since 1993, making it one of New Jersey's original Thanksgiving Day events and a cherished family tradition for generations. This year’s race will attract over six thousand runners and walkers, all contributing to support CEA’s mission by raising funds for employment programs that benefit hundreds of individuals with disabilities. Participants can choose between the 2 Mile Walk or the five-kilometer run, both routes weaving through Flemington's charming streets.
The course is a firm and slightly soft mix of pavement and gravel paths, offering a challenge to runners as they navigate through the historic town center. The route features numerous turns that lead participants past quaint shops, homes, and public buildings, creating an experience rich in history. At the start on Main Street, runners will find themselves amidst a sea of fellow enthusiasts before heading into the heart of Flemington where aid stations are strategically placed to ensure hydration and energy replenishment.
The race begins at 9:00 AM with participants starting from the historic Courthouse Square and finishing just steps away in front of the same location. With an average wind speed of around 12.5 kilometers per hour, runners should prepare for a brisk but manageable pace. The typical weather conditions include humidity levels of about 65%, which will feel comfortable given the temperature range.

The event starts on Main Street in front of the historic Courthouse Square. Participants must be at least 14 years old, with a waiver required for those under 18. First-timers are welcome; we offer support and encouragement as you join this long-standing tradition.
