2026 Air Force Marathon

Celebrate the rich history and enduring spirit of the U.S. Air Force with the 30th Anniversary Air Force Marathon, set for September at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. This annual endurance event has been a cornerstone of military community engagement since its inception in 1997 to honor the 50th anniversary of the Air Force's founding.
This year’s marathon weekend promises an unforgettable experience with five distinct race distances: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and the Tailwind Trot 1K Kids’ Run. The event introduces a new challenge division called AIM HIGH, which offers runners versatility by allowing them to participate in multiple races—choose from the 5K plus either the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, or 10K.
Participants will earn race shirts for both events and finisher coins, with medals awarded for each completed race. The AIM HIGH Challenge medal serves as a special keepsake commemorating your participation. Team registration is open to all; bring friends and family to enhance the experience—running together makes it more enjoyable!
The course winds through historic aviation sites, culminating at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. This unique setting offers an immersive journey spanning over 110 years of military airpower history.
