2026 Birdsville Races RFDS Fun Run

Join the 2026 annual Birdsville Races Fun Run, where the spirit of Australia's Outback comes alive with its iconic country and western theme! As you lace up your boots or slip on an Akubra, prepare to step into a world where cowboy hats meet check shirts in vibrant hues. Embrace the essence of the Australian bush by channeling your inner stockman, rodeo queen, or rhinestone cowboy. The event offers something for every adventurer—walkers, fun runners, and serious athletes alike can participate.
The race venue is set against a backdrop of vast desert landscapes, perfect for those who love running through open spaces under the Australian sun. Participants are encouraged to create fundraising pages in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Queensland Section. With just 100 participants raising $100 each, you can help reach the goal of $10,000.
The race will feature exciting prizes for top performers and creativity. Winners in both open male and female categories will receive vouchers worth $150, $100, and $50 respectively. A special Best Dressed Runner award comes with a generous prize of $100 to honor the most stylish participants who embody the theme.
To ensure your safety and enjoyment, remember to wear appropriate footwear and bring along essential items like hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Pace yourself according to your comfort; if you feel unwell or need assistance, don't hesitate to ask marshals for help. We also recommend carrying a mobile phone with you during the event.
