Channel your “spirit animal” and walk/run on the wild side at the 4th annual Day of the Dead (Día de Los Muertos) 5K event while supporting a great cause! Everyone is invited to take literal steps to make a positive impact on the lives of youth, especially during the holidays. Join hosts Mita’s Foundation and DJ Gato on Saturday, October 24, 2026, starting at 8 a.m, at 5501 S. Yale, LaFortune Park, Southeast Pavilion, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Event organizer Tina Peña, CEO/President of Mita’s Foundation said, “As a community, we are proud to host this Día de los Muertos 5K in Tulsa. We are the first, original and only locally managed Day of the Dead race. This event is not only about running, but also about honoring culture, celebrating life and bringing people together for a powerful cause. It is also a good practice for your Tulsa Run.”
Participants in the 5K will be contributing to the important work of Mita’s Foundation in Peru. Your involvement will help us continue our mission to provide charitable relief and improve the quality of life for the impoverished and underprivileged children and their families through initiatives and programs (clinic, schools, soup kitchen, pre-fab homes, humanitarian aid, girls’ detention/rehabilitation center and much more).
DJ Gato is donating a portion of the proceeds to his children’s school running club which benefits the Tulsa community with a positive and healthy activity.

Learn more about the host city, Tulsa.
Tulsa calls itself the "Oil Capital of the World." Here, the age of the oil boom found its center. A small town by US standards, metropolitan luxuries such as theater, fine dining, nightlife, and shopping are found in a state known for sparsely populated farming communities. The picturesque downtown is surrounded by rolling hills covered with prairie grasses and ancient forests, a first impression that soon reveals world-class architecture and museums of art, miles of biking and walking trails, and huge parks. With a wealth of iconic sights and neighborhoods to explore, a trip to Tulsa can easily fit several weeks of touring.
