2026 Dia De Los Miles

The 2026 Dia De Los Miles festival returns to Elk Grove, California on October 25th. This colorful celebration honors Latino and Hispanic heritage by inviting families to join the vibrant atmosphere through either a 5K run or walk. Early birds can gather at Central Park from around 7 am for setup before the race kicks off.
The course weaves through the heart of Elk Grove's central park, offering participants a scenic journey lined with trees and homes. Upon completion, attendees will find themselves in the lively mercados area, where they can enjoy live music, diverse food stalls, and engaging entertainment suitable for all age groups. The vibrant setting is further enhanced by local artists selling unique handcrafted items such as textiles, jewelry, and leather goods.
This year's Dia De Los Miles event has grown significantly over its five-year history, attracting hundreds of participants each time. Runners can expect a well-suited course with smooth paved roads featuring gentle inclines leading to the finish line. The race commences at Central Park around 8 am under comfortable conditions: average temperatures hover near 19°C (66°F), though humidity levels between 50% and 70% may make it feel warmer. A light breeze of about 7 km/h provides a cooling effect.
For younger participants, two kids' runs are available—half-mile for older children and quarter-mile for the little ones. These distances ensure an engaging and fun experience as runners navigate streets lined with trees before heading towards the mercados area. No aid stations will be provided due to the manageable nature of these short routes, ensuring safety.
Registration fees start at $41.16 for adults in the 5K run/walk and $23.05 for kids' runs of either distance. Participants can collect their bibs on October 24th from 1 pm to 7 pm at Central Park, where they should also bring identification or proof of age.
First-timers are encouraged to wear comfortable running shoes and carry water. The race starts at the intersection of Oak Street and Pine Avenue in Elk Grove with a minimum age requirement of 5 years for runners; strollers are welcome for those accompanying younger children.
