Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 1, 2026, as Flint's beloved Flint River Flotilla makes its triumphant return after a five-year absence. This unique event invites participants to explore the scenic beauty of the Flint River by kayak, canoe, paddleboard, raft, or any creative floatation device they choose. The journey begins at either Tenacity Brewing on North Grand Traverse Street or the Swartz Creek launch point near the Flint River Watershed Coalition office. From there, you'll glide along a picturesque route that winds through Chevy Commons and culminates in Mott Park Recreation Area. Along the way, expect to encounter an array of natural wonders, including diverse wildlife and stunning views of the river's revitalized landscape. Participants will launch between 10:00 am and 11:30 am in scheduled intervals to ensure a smooth start for everyone. Make sure to arrive early—registration opens half an hour before your designated departure time—to secure a spot on one of the complimentary shuttles back to Tenacity Brewing after you reach Mott Park. The day's festivities continue with the Flotilla Fest Afterparty from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This celebration features live music, food trucks serving up delicious eats, and a variety of drinks at Tenacity Brewing. Don't miss out on the awards ceremony celebrating participants' creativity and spirit. Registration fees are as follows: - Adults (ages 18+): $25 Includes event registration, shuttle transportation, one drink ticket for select beverages, and a commemorative sticker. - Youth (ages 11–17): $10 Includes event registration only. - Children under 11: Free Pre-order adult T-shirts for just $15 before July 22nd or purchase them on the day of the event at $20 while supplies last.
