On October 18, 2026, the Greater Beverly YMCA invites runners to participate in the Fly By 5K & Kids Fun Run at the picturesque Beverly Regional Airport. This unique race offers participants an opportunity to run on airfield grounds while supporting vital community programs. The event kicks off early with a fun-filled Kids Fun Run starting at 8:10 AM, followed by the main 5K race beginning promptly at 8:30 AM. The course itself is designed for runners of all abilities and features an engaging mix of terrain around the airport campus. Participants will have the chance to explore the McPherson Youth Center and the Open Air & Space Museum as they traverse through this special setting. Registration fees go directly towards providing financial assistance and scholarships, ensuring that everyone in the community has access to essential YMCA programs like swim safety, youth development initiatives, and childcare services. By signing up for the Fly By 5K, runners are not only challenging themselves physically but also making a meaningful impact on their local communities. Race day activities include bib pickup at Beverly Regional Airport from October 16th through race morning, free parking within the airport terminal, and timing provided by Bay State Race Services.
