2026 Hongcheon Love Marathon

The Hongcheonsarang Marathon returns on Sunday, October 4th, welcoming runners to embrace the scenic beauty of Hongcheon County. Starting promptly at 9 AM from the Hongcheon Sports Complex, this vibrant race offers distances for all levels: Half Marathon (21km), 10Km, and a family-friendly 5Km route.
Participants can look forward to receiving a commemorative gift upon registration, along with a unique race bib number. Upon crossing the finish line in any category except 5Km, runners will be awarded an official finisher's medal and treated to a post-race snack. Timing chips are provided for Half Marathon and 10Km participants, ensuring accurate results for all.
The event is meticulously organized by the Hongcheon Athletics Federation, with support from key sponsors including Hongcheon County, Hongcheon County Council, and Hongcheon Sports Council. Isang Communications serves as the executive agency to ensure a smooth running of operations.
Registration opens on a first-come, first-served basis limited to 3,000 participants. Individuals can sign up online for either Half Marathon or 10Km categories at a fee of 50,000 KRW each; those opting for the 5Km course will pay 45,000 KRW. Groups of 30 runners and above are eligible to apply via email and receive special group assistance.
Awards ceremonies highlight the day's festivities, presenting trophies and cash prizes to top male and female finishers in both Half Marathon and 10Km races. However, athletes registered with Korea Association of Athletics Federations or Triathlon Korea who have been active within the past two years are ineligible for awards due to competitive regulations.
Registration fees must be paid via credit card or virtual bank transfer at time of sign-up. Refund requests can be made until August 28th by 5 PM; no cancellations will be accepted after this date, and lost race bibs cannot be reissued. Commemorative gifts, race bib numbers, and timing chips for Half Marathon and 10Km runners are shipped one week before the event.
