2026 HUERTAS DEL EBRO

The Huertas del Ebro Race is an annual community-driven running event organized by the Veliulla Association of Aracanta and supported by the Agoncillo Town Hall, located in La Rioja, Spain. This summer festival highlight features two distinct race distances: a competitive 10km run and a non-competitive 5km fun run that winds through picturesque huertas (orchards) alongside the Ebro River.
The 10km route is entirely flat and offers participants an opportunity to showcase their speed with cash prizes for both male and female winners. The top three finishers in each category will receive trophies along with €100, €75, and €50 respectively. Additionally, local runners who achieve the first place in either gender will also be awarded a trophy plus €75.
The 5km fun run is designed for recreational participants of all ages to enjoy a leisurely pace through scenic orchards near Agoncillo. The event organizers provide water stations throughout both races and refreshments such as fruit and beverages at the finish line. A special prize will be awarded to the oldest participant who completes the 10km race.
All registered runners are entered into a raffle for gift baskets donated by local businesses, which they can claim with their bib numbers upon finishing the event. The town’s Polideportivo Municipal sports center offers showers near the finish line for post-race comfort and recovery.
The funds raised from this year's Huertas del Ebro Race will support Vencela Rioja, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in La Rioja. Participants are encouraged to join this meaningful cause that aims to raise awareness about ALS while fostering community spirit and solidarity.
