2026 Kujukuri Triathlon

About the Event

The Kujukuri Triathlon, affectionately known as the 99T, is an ideal destination for triathletes of all levels. Situated along Japan’s second longest beach in Ichinomiya, Chiba Prefecture, this event offers a picturesque backdrop with easy access from Tokyo—just a 90-minute drive away.
The Kujukuri Triathlon features both Middle Distance (Half Ironman/70.3) and Standard Distance (Olympic/5150) options for athletes to choose from:
- Middle Distance:
- Swim: 1.9KM
- Bike: 90KM
- Run: 21.1KM
- Standard Distance:
- Swim: 1.5KM
- Bike: 40KM
- Run: 10KM
The swim takes place in a protected estuary, offering calm and safe conditions for participants to start the race with confidence. The bike route follows toll roads that are straight and flat, providing an ideal setting for achieving fast times. Similarly, the run course is straightforward, allowing athletes to focus on their pace without worrying about technical terrain.
Ichinomiya’s long stretch of beach not only serves as a stunning venue but also offers numerous water activities year-round such as surfing and jet skiing. The area gained further recognition during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when it hosted the surfing competition, highlighting its natural beauty and suitability for aquatic sports.
For those interested in participating or learning more about this event, detailed course maps are available online (though currently tentative). The registration process is designed primarily for international participants; however, Japanese nationals can also register but will be subject to specific refund policies if they do so.
