Triple Threat at McAllister Park returns for the third consecutive year, offering an exhilarating series of mountain biking events designed to challenge and inspire cyclists. The inaugural date is set for June 7, with subsequent races on June 28 and July 12. No rain dates or refunds are available. This unique time-trial format allows participants to test their fitness and handling skills across three identical courses at McAllister Park. Each event will feature the same challenging trails, ensuring a consistent experience each week. All proceeds benefit San Antonio Kids on Bikes, supporting their mission of getting more children involved in cycling. Event start times for each race are announced by noon on Saturday preceding the event via SAKOB’s Facebook page (SAKOB - San Antonio Kids on Bikes). Participant slots will be allocated based on previous finish times from this year's series; first-time and day-of registrants, as well as those under 18 years old, will join at the end of adult pre-registered participants. The course spans approximately 9 miles for adults (3 to 5 miles for riders aged 12 and younger), weaving through McAllister Park’s diverse terrain. Number plates and timing chips can be picked up from 7 a.m., with detailed route information available on SAKOB's Facebook page by the end of May, updated weekly leading into each event. Participants are reminded that while park trails are open to the public, course markings will include tape, arrows, and flour laid down for clarity. Kindly pass other trail users courteously, calling out "on left" or “on right” as necessary. Registration fees vary by age group: - Adults: $50 for a single event; $130 for all three. - Middle school and high school students: $40 for one race; $110 for the series. - Riders 12 years old and under (kids course): $10 per event or $30 for triple threat. Late onsite registration is possible until 8 a.m., though fees increase by $10. Under-12 riders can request financial assistance through email to [email protected]. Prizes are awarded via raffle tickets available to all participants, with the top three in each category securing additional entries to enhance their chances of winning.
