Scheduled for a time when both water and air temperatures are ideal, this 1-mile swim offers participants a comfortable yet challenging aquatic journey. The event kicks off at the picturesque 5th Avenue Landing behind the San Diego Convention Center and concludes on the sandy shores of Tidelands Park beach near the iconic Coronado Bridge.
Swimmers will enjoy optimal conditions as the race is timed to coincide with "slack" tide, ensuring smoother water currents for a safer and more enjoyable experience. With space limited to just 300 participants, securing your spot early is highly recommended.
This event caters exclusively to experienced open-water swimmers who are comfortable completing a mile-long swim in under 40 minutes within a pool setting. It’s an opportunity not only to challenge yourself but also to immerse in the scenic beauty of San Diego's coastal waters.
