The 2026 Santa Shuffle Montreal: Fun Run & Elf Walk is set to bring joy and support back to Montréal, Quebec, Canada on December 5th. This beloved tradition supports The Salvation Army's local initiatives across the city. Race participants will gather at Jean-Talon Park in downtown Montréal early on race morning. Known for its vibrant community spirit, this green space provides a festive setting with ample areas for gathering and celebration. Expect temperatures to hover around -4°Celsius, accompanied by winds up to 12 km/h that make the chill even more biting. The course begins with an invigorating run through Jean-Talon Park’s well-maintained pathways, featuring gentle terrain with slight elevation changes. The path offers a mix of flat and slightly hilly sections, providing both challenge and beauty as runners and walkers enjoy the scenery. This will be the fourteenth edition since 2013, celebrating years of community engagement and support for local needs. Thousands have participated over the years to raise funds for food banks, shelter programs, and other critical services provided by The Salvation Army units in Montréal. Participants can choose between a 5K Fun Run or a 1K Elf Walk designed specifically for younger runners and their families. Both courses follow Jean-Talon Park’s main pathways, offering scenic views of the city while staying within manageable distances. Race day weather promises to be cold with temperatures ranging from -8°Celsius to -2°Celsius, along with high humidity levels at 80%. Minimal snowfall is expected but may make for a more challenging run. Despite this, participants can expect strategically placed aid stations throughout the course to ensure comfort and support as they move forward. The event offers early bird pricing until November 1st, with individual registration fees of CA$61.70. Youth and seniors can save $10 each by registering before then; group discounts up to 15% are available for groups of four or more. Participants must be at least 18 years old to run in the Fun Run, while all ages are welcome for the Elf Walk. Bibs will be distributed starting December 2nd at the event site on Rue de la Commune Ouest near Place des Arts. Bring your ID and a pen if you plan to fundraise online during registration. The Santa Shuffle Montreal: Fun Run & Elf Walk is more than just an event; it’s a community effort that brings together Montréalites in support of those less fortunate, ensuring families have a holiday meal and children receive gifts this season.

About Montréal
Learn more about the host city, Montréal.
Montreal is the largest city in the province of Quebec, the second-largest in Canada, and the eighth-largest in North America. Founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, or "City of Mary", it now takes its name from Mount Royal, the triple-peaked mountain around which the early settlement was built. The city is centred on the Island of Montreal and a few, much smaller, peripheral islands, the largest of which is Île Bizard. It lies 196 kilometres (122 mi) east of the national capital, Ottawa, and 258 kilometres (160 mi) southwest of the provincial capital, Quebec City.
