In fall 2026, the Seattle Kids Marathon welcomes young runners of all ages and abilities to take on their very own marathon journey. This unique program invites children to complete the full 26.2-mile distance by running one mile at a time over several months leading up to November 30th. The final push comes alive as participants gather in person at Bell Harbor, Pier 66 for an exciting and memorable finale. Here, they will run their last leg – a celebratory 1.2 miles along the scenic waterfront of Seattle's bustling harbor area, surrounded by family, friends, and fellow young athletes. Throughout the program, kids are encouraged to track not just their mileage but also healthy eating habits with "26 good meals," reading adventures with "13 books," and community service through completing 13 do-rights (good deeds). This holistic approach aims to instill a sense of accomplishment both physically and mentally while fostering positive lifestyle choices. For those who wish to participate but may face financial barriers, event scholarships are available. To apply for one or learn more about the program's offerings, interested families can reach out via email at kids@seattlemarathon.org. The Seattle Kids Marathon offers a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where young runners from all backgrounds can experience the joy of marathon training and completion in their own way. Seattle’s Pier 66 serves as an inspiring backdrop for this special day, providing a festive atmosphere filled with encouragement and celebration. The event promises to be not just about running but also about building confidence, making friends, and embracing personal growth through physical activity and community engagement.
