2026 Women's 6k Festival in Canton, Ohio, United States on July 11th will celebrate women and girls of all ages and talents with a USATF-sanctioned championship event followed by a community open run/walk. The race kicks off at Downtown Centennial Plaza at 8:00 AM for the Elite Women's 6km Championship and continues to an exciting finish line after the awards ceremony, which honors top-tier athletes like former marathon record holder Kiera D'Amato and bronze medalist Molly Seidel.
Race day will see a diverse landscape with clear skies and light winds. The morning sun casts a warm glow over the city as runners gather from nearby parks and streets leading up to the finish line. Community energy is palpable, with local businesses setting up stalls offering refreshments and entertainment for participants and spectators alike. This event has been a tradition in Canton since 2014, serving not only as a competitive platform but also raising awareness about women's health issues.
Course terrain features a fast hard surface providing runners with an ideal environment to achieve personal bests. The race starts and finishes at Downtown Centennial Plaza, where the finish line is set up for immediate bib pickup post-race. Along the 3.73-mile course, there are no major elevation changes; however, aid stations will be strategically placed every mile or so with water and energy gels available to support hydration needs.
Weather predictions suggest an average temperature of 23.9°C but could range from a minimum of 18.7°C to a maximum of 29.2°C on race day. Runners should prepare for high UV levels, reaching up to index level 8, which is very high; sunscreen and wide-brimmed hats are recommended. Light rain is expected at the rate of 3mm, but due to the hard surface conditions, this shouldn't significantly impact performance.
