The 2026 Wuhan Autumn Trail Race is set to take place on October 11, 2026, at the picturesque Nine Peaks National Forest Park in Wuhan. The race offers three distinct courses tailored for various levels of runners: an Elite course covering a challenging distance of 26 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 1240 meters; a Challenge course spanning 13 kilometers and featuring a cumulative ascent of 620 meters; and a Family-friendly option that extends over 5 kilometers, ascending 260 meters. All participants will embark on their respective routes at the same time in the morning.
Nine Peaks National Forest Park is nestled within Wuhan's Hongshan District, boasting an expansive area of 333.3 hectares since its establishment in 1910 and officially recognized as a national park by China’s State Forestry Administration in July 1992. The terrain here is characterized by lush greenery and diverse wildlife, with the park featuring over 580 species of plants and more than sixty bird varieties.
Runners will traverse through an enchanting landscape dotted with nine prominent peaks: Lion Peak, Yellow Pine Peak, Great King Peak, Hat Peak, Topknot Peak, Pagoda Peak, Ant Hill, Basin Peak, and Elephant Trunk Peak. Each peak offers unique vistas as the course winds its way along winding trails that snake between these majestic formations.
The park's climate is influenced by subtropical monsoon conditions with an average annual temperature of 16.3°C, making it a perfect setting for autumn trail running. The forest cover stands at over 85%, creating a dense and lush environment rich in biodiversity, including towering evergreen trees that form the dominant vegetation.
