About the Event

The sun casts a golden glow over the quaint streets of Lafayette on race day as runners prepare for the 2027 Zydeco Marathon. The city awakens early with the first light, and by mid-morning, the air is filled with excitement. The event takes place in the heart of downtown Lafayette, where the vibrant community comes together to support its own.
This year marks the return of a beloved tradition that has been running strong for over two decades, bringing runners from all walks of life under one banner. Over 2000 participants are expected this year, making it not just a race but an event that celebrates both the city and the spirit of community. The marathon benefits Ainsley's Angels, a local charity dedicated to supporting children with cancer.
Course & Conditions

Runners will encounter firm and slightly soft trail conditions that are typical in March at this latitude—temperatures hovering around 18 degrees Celsius with a comfortable feel despite occasional breezes. Special mention must be made for the elevation, which ranges from minor hills to gentle descents, providing a varied yet manageable challenge.
