2027 Jr. Gasparilla Distance Classic

About the Event

Join us for an inspiring day at the 2027 Jr. Gasparilla Distance Classic, organized by The Gasparilla Distance Classic Association and supported by the Mendez Foundation. This annual event is dedicated to promoting children's health and reducing childhood obesity in the Tampa Bay community while fostering integrity and strength of character among young participants.
The race offers a safe and encouraging environment for kids to enjoy running or walking with their families, friends, and fellow competitors. Participants will experience the vibrant atmosphere along scenic routes that showcase some of Tampa’s most beloved neighborhoods. The event is designed not only as an athletic challenge but also as a fun-filled day filled with community spirit.
Safety is our top priority at the Jr. Gasparilla Distance Classic. Upon arrival, please ensure your children are aware of the designated Holding Area location. If they become separated from you during the race or festivities, instruct them to head directly to this area and approach one of the Tampa Police Department officers stationed there for assistance.
This year’s event promises an unforgettable day with plenty of activities tailored just for young athletes and their families. Come out and be a part of something special in your community!
