About the Event

The 2027 Mader Port to Pub, scheduled for March 20th, offers swimmers an unforgettable journey from Leighton Beach in Fremantle across the open ocean to Wadjemup (Rottnest Island). This iconic event brings together solo athletes and teams of up to six members who take on either a 19.7km crossing or the more demanding 25km Ultramarathon, which includes an additional loop northward towards Cottesloe.
Participants can choose between swimming alone or forming pairs or larger groups for added camaraderie and support. The event celebrates not only athletic achievement but also community spirit as swimmers come together to complete this challenging yet rewarding feat. Swimmers have the option of creating personal fundraising pages through Port to Pub's Grassrootz platform, allowing them to raise money for charities close to their hearts.
The Mader Port to Pub is proud to support Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, a charity dedicated to enhancing health services and facilities for children in Western Australia. The event wouldn't be possible without the generous backing of its partners and sponsors who help bring this inspiring day to life each year.
Swimmers prepare themselves not just physically but mentally as they embark on this historic journey across the open waters towards Rottnest Island, an experience that promises both personal triumph and a chance to make a difference in the lives of others.
