About the Event

Nestled in the scenic hills of Tuscany, Italy, the Florence Running Festival offers runners an unforgettable blend of history and natural beauty. This annual event draws participants from around the world to experience its challenging yet rewarding courses set against a backdrop of rolling vineyards and ancient stone pathways.
The centerpiece of the festival is the 21-kilometer half marathon that winds through charming Tuscan villages, each with their own unique charm and rich cultural heritage. Runners will pass by picturesque landscapes dotted with olive groves and cypress trees as they make their way towards Florence’s iconic landmarks like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.
In addition to the main event, there are shorter distance options including a 5-kilometer fun run that is perfect for families looking to enjoy the atmosphere without pushing themselves too hard. This route also showcases some of Tuscany's most picturesque scenery while offering an easier pace suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
The festival weekend features more than just running; it includes live music, food stalls serving traditional Italian cuisine, and cultural activities that celebrate local traditions and artistry. Participants can enjoy the vibrant energy of the event as they explore Florence’s historic center or relax in one of its many cozy cafes.
For those who wish to extend their stay beyond race day, there are guided tours available to discover more about Tuscany's rich history and stunning countryside. Whether you're a seasoned runner looking for a new challenge or someone interested in experiencing Italian culture firsthand, the Florence Running Festival promises an engaging experience that combines athletic achievement with cultural immersion.
The event is organized by Runners Italia, known for their commitment to creating memorable running experiences while supporting local communities through charitable contributions and environmental initiatives.
