The Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic (PGDC) Race Weekend transforms St. Petersburg into a vibrant hub of athletic celebration over three days. This event offers runners the opportunity to participate in various distances, from the invigorating 15K and 8K runs to the challenging Half Marathon, as well as four multi-event Challenges that test both endurance and skill. Navigating through the picturesque waterfront course on Bayshore Blvd., participants are treated to stunning views of Tampa Bay. The flat out-and-back route ensures a smooth run for all levels while providing scenic breaks along the way. Post-race festivities take place at the Q-105 Post Race Celebration by Hillsborough River, where registered participants (21 years and older) can enjoy one free Michelob Ultra beer accompanied by live music performances. The evening concludes with an exciting awards presentation, celebrating the achievements of all runners. The PGDC Race Weekend also stands as a significant philanthropic event, supporting youth-focused charitable organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, and Friends of Tampa Recreation.
