Dive into the heart of Texas with the Oldest Half Marathon, affectionately known as "Moe's Better Half," now rebranded and ready to celebrate its rich history. This half marathon is more than just a race; it’s an experience that takes you through the stunning prairie landscapes surrounding San Marcos.
The event kicks off at 7:30 AM sharp from the bustling Tanger Outlet Mall parking lot, where runners will wind their way past rolling hills and picturesque scenery. The course itself offers a mix of terrain, ensuring both seasoned veterans and newcomers alike can appreciate its charm.
Post-race festivities are legendary in San Marcos, with an explosion of energy at the Scallywompus style after-party that promises to be filled with live music, delicious Tex-Mex cuisine, and plenty of adult beverages for those looking to unwind.
Located midway between Austin and San Antonio, this town offers a vibrant atmosphere beyond just the race day. Whether you're interested in exploring local boutiques or enjoying some live entertainment, there's no shortage of activities available throughout your stay.
Registration includes an array of distances: 13.1 miles starting at 7:30 AM, followed by competitive 10K and 5K walks beginning at 8:15 AM; a fun-filled 5k run kicking off at 8:35 AM; and rounding out the day with a delightful 1.05-mile Fun Run at 8:40 AM.
For those eager to gear up, Fleet Feet San Antonio at Culebra Commons is your go-to spot for last-minute race-day essentials on Saturday from 4-7 PM.
All participants will receive an official finisher's medal upon completion of their chosen distance. Awards are handed out across various age groups and categories, including first overall male and female winners as well as masters' divisions.
Discounts are available to young runners aged 16 or younger who qualify for a significant reduction in entry fees without needing additional discount codes.
