About the Event
The Shonan International Marathon is renowned for its commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. As the world's first "My Bottle Marathon," it has achieved zero disposable cup or plastic bottle waste along the course, thanks to the support of approximately 95% of participants who bring their own reusable bottles. Runners can enjoy a clean and eco-friendly experience as they traverse scenic coastal routes in Shonan. The event offers various race categories including the full marathon for serious athletes and shorter fun runs designed for families and recreational runners. Participants will appreciate the well-organized hydration stations that contribute to maintaining pristine course conditions throughout the day. The full marathon presents a challenging yet rewarding route through picturesque landscapes, while the 10km fun run provides an accessible option for both general participants and high school students. Additionally, there is a special family-friendly 2km event tailored for younger runners accompanied by their parents, as well as a short 1.4km walk/run segment. Registration fees vary depending on the race category: - Full Marathon: ¥16,500 - Fun Run (General): ¥8,500 - High School Students' Fun Run: ¥5,500 - Family Run (Parent and Child): ¥2,000 - Walk & Run 1.4km: ¥1,000 For serious athletes looking to train intensively leading up to the event, a training package is also available for an additional fee of ¥38,500 on top of the standard registration cost.
