The 24th Potomac River Run Marathon & Half, will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2027, at Fletcher's Cove, 4940 Canal Road, Washington DC, on C&O Canal Towpath.

On Friday, April 30th, 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM, we host pre-race packet pickup at PACERS RUNNING STORE, 3100 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington, VA, across from Clarendon Metro.
On race day, Saturday, May 1st, on-site packet pickup opens from 6:00 AM to 8:15 AM at Fletcher's Cove. We ask Marathoners to arrive for pickup from 6:00-7:15 AM and Half Marathoners from 7:00-8:15 AM to avoid overcrowding.
The Marathon starts at 7:30 AM
The Half Marathon starts at 08:30 AM
We report marathon results to the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) before the end of May so you can qualify for Boston 2028.

Monetary prizes for the top 3 finishers and awards for each of the age group winners.

Highest point is 44m above sea level, lowest point is 12m above sea level

The racecourse is 99% crushed gravel -- no hills -- no pavement except for two short stretches to prevent erosion, no cross streets
Be aware the aid stations close as the last runner approaches. Last Aid Station at Lock 6 closes at 1:30 PM. Please if you are a slow runner, bring your own water bottle to the race
