Join us for the Run for Water on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at Get Fit Georgia Street in Amarillo, Texas. This inspiring race offers distances of 1 mile, 5 kilometers, and 10 kilometers to raise funds for a critical cause: drilling water wells in Uganda. Registration is now open with early bird pricing until Thursday, August 13th, when the cost increases slightly. The event aims to gather at least 344 runners to help reach its fundraising goal of $10,000 – enough to fund two life-changing water wells for children and communities in Uganda. On race day, packet pick-up will take place from 6:45 AM to 7:15 AM. The race starts promptly at 7:30 AM with all participants setting off together on a scenic course through the streets of Amarillo. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K races, as well as master’s (over-50) categories. Age group awards will be announced later based on registration numbers. It's important to note that race shirts cannot be guaranteed after July 31st. The event is organized by 25:35 Water, a nonprofit organization dedicated entirely to ending the water crisis in Uganda through volunteer efforts and community support. Every dollar raised goes directly toward drilling wells, providing clean drinking water for those who need it most. Sponsors include Get Fit Amarillo (Georgia & Hillside), Mizuno, Golden Creation Coffee, and M&R Package Store – all committed to making a difference alongside the runners on race day. For more information or to make donations outside of registration fees, visit 2535water.org. Join us in supporting this vital cause and running for clean water access around the world.
