Join us on Sunday, July 11, 2027 for the 28th edition of the Glass Monk Run. This year's race starts at 8 AM from Schäferhof in Langenstein, thanks to our generous sponsors including Sanitätshaus Disse and Allianz Schwarz Agentur who have been instrumental in organizing this event. The route offers a unique blend of terrain that includes roads, cobblestone paths, gravel trails, stairs, forest tracks, and even sandy sections for an unforgettable running experience. The trail has been widened to allow runners to move more freely but caution is advised due to the challenging 222-step ascent up the mountain. Participants can look forward to a scenic course with breathtaking views as they navigate through green tunnels formed by dense forests. This year, we've introduced new features such as coffee and cake available from 9 AM onwards for runners who wish to relax after their run or before starting out. We also welcome team entries in categories like families, clubs, companies, and teams. The race is part of the Harzer Läufercup 2027 series, offering an additional incentive for those competing across multiple events. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy a casual gathering at the former country house with coffee, cake, radler (beer mixed with lemonade), grilled food, and live music. We encourage everyone to help us make this year’s event even more successful by volunteering during race day or assisting in its organization. Volunteers will be rewarded with free access to Langenstein's beautiful outdoor pool after their shift ends.
