28. Meißner-Berglauf in Meißner-Abterode

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Meißner-Abterode, Germany, the 27th edition of the Meißner-Berglauf promises to be an exhilarating race for runners of all ages and abilities. Scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2025, this annual event begins at 10:00 AM sharp.
The course winds through scenic trails from Meißner-Abterode up to the summit of Hoher Meißner, offering participants a challenging yet rewarding ascent over a distance of 9.4 kilometers with an elevation gain of approximately 430 meters. The route starts at Rehbergstraße near Heubergstraße and concludes south of the large parking area on top of Hoher Meißner.
Open to runners born in or before 2009, this race features multiple age categories including U18/U20 for younger athletes, women's and men’s classes, as well as master divisions from W/M30 up to W/M80. Registration is now open online via RaceResult until September 5th at midnight.
Participants can take advantage of the convenience offered by shuttle buses stationed in the start area before race day begins. These will transport any extra clothing left behind directly to the finish line, ensuring runners remain comfortable throughout their climb. Post-race shuttles are also available immediately upon completion for a seamless return journey back down the mountain.
The event includes prize money of 5 euros for youth competitors and 8 euros each for adult women, men, and masters divisions. Late entrants can register on-site up to half an hour before the start time but must pay a late fee of 3 euros.
After crossing the finish line, all racers are invited to attend the awards ceremony held in the multi-purpose hall at Bürgerhaus, Heubergstraße, where results will be announced and prizes distributed.
Race day amenities such as changing facilities for women can also be found within this central location near school grounds on Heubergstraße.

The Hesse Mountain Running Championships qualification is also integrated into this race until August 26th at midnight. Interested competitors must register exclusively through LA.Net3 to qualify according to official guidelines available on www.hlv.de. The HLV (Hessischer Leichtathletik Verband) recommends all participants undergo a PAPS test, which can help identify potential health risks and prevent injuries.
