29. LASARTE-ORIA BAI!!

Organized by Ostadar Saiara Sports Team, the annual Lasarte-Oria race promises an engaging and scenic experience for runners of all ages. Set to take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, this beloved event offers two distinct races: a challenging Cross run over 10 kilometers and a more leisurely Nordic walk covering 5 kilometers.
The cross-country route begins at Estación Street in Lasarte-Oria, weaving through the picturesque town before heading to Zubieta via the Hipódromo. Participants can expect varied terrain that includes stretches of road, trails, and possibly some challenging inclines as they make their way back into Lasarte-Oria for a thrilling finish on Okendo Plaza.
For those opting for Nordic walking, the 5-kilometer course remains entirely within Lasarte-Oria’s charming streets, offering runners ample opportunity to soak in the town's ambiance. Both races start at 10:30 AM sharp and are expected to conclude by around noon.
Registration is open exclusively to individuals aged sixteen or older as of 2010. Participants can sign up online until October 23rd at midnight, while on-site registration will be available from the Casa de Cultura Manuel Lekuona between October 19th and 23rd during specified hours.
Race day registration is also possible but comes with a higher fee: €23 compared to the early bird price of €15 for general participants or €10 for members. Each registrant will receive an official race shirt upon collecting their bib number at Michelín Fronton from October 24th onwards, and on race day itself.
The event features a comprehensive range of services designed with runners’ needs in mind: accident insurance coverage is provided to all competitors along with medical support, hydration stations during the run, post-race refreshments, and locker rooms for changing. Additionally, there will be volunteer marshals stationed at key points throughout both courses to ensure smooth navigation.
Safety remains a top priority; local law enforcement agencies such as Ertzaintza and the Police Force collaborate closely with organizers to manage traffic control and emergency services. Water stations are strategically placed around kilometer 5 of each route, while medical support teams are on standby in case any participants need assistance during or after the race.
Prizes include custom-designed hats for winners alongside floral bouquets and shopping vouchers from local businesses as appreciation tokens. All registered runners have a chance to win additional prizes through raffles held prior to October 23rd at midnight, with generous contributions from various sponsors within Lasarte-Oria’s community.
By participating in this event, all competitors agree to adhere strictly to the established rules and guidelines set forth by Ostadar Saiara Sports Team. Any violations may result in penalties ranging from disqualification to being placed last on the leaderboard for that particular race category.
