About the Event

3 Days at the Fair in Augusta, New Jersey, United States, is a unique event happening from May 10 to 16, 2027. This multi-day extravaganza includes 5K runs and other longer distance races that take place on the picturesque Sussex County Fairgrounds. The race itself spans multiple days with options for participants ranging from six hours all the way up to a grueling 144-hour endurance challenge.
On race day, expect a serene landscape under a clear sky during springtime in New Jersey. The fairgrounds offer expansive grassy areas and paved paths that weave through trees and fields, creating an atmosphere rich with community energy. Local residents often gather to support the runners, adding to the festive ambiance of the event. This tradition has been celebrated for years as part of the local calendar.
The course terrain is a mix of firm and slightly soft surfaces, perfect for all levels of endurance athletes. It features certified NJ24025JLW 1 mile loops with special start lines designated for Marathon or 50K finishes. The race layout includes a certified marathon course as well as a 50K distance that ensures runners are challenged both physically and mentally.
At the start/finish area, you’ll find elevated positions from which participants can begin their journey on Saturday morning at 9:00 am for various races including Marathon or 50K options. Elevation changes are minimal but provide scenic views of the fairgrounds. Alongside this, there are several aid stations equipped with everything runners need to keep going strong throughout all distances.
Weather in May is generally mild with temperatures ranging from a minimum of around 9.6°C and a maximum of about 20.8°C on race day. Wind speeds average at 10 km/h, while humidity hovers just under the comfort level at 71%. Rainfall is expected to be minimal, so runners can prepare for mostly dry conditions. UV index will be high during midday hours, making sunscreen essential.
