Invitation to the 3rd Canicross Open Event by HSV Osterode e.V. Join us for an exciting day of competition at the Alte Harzstr. 33, located in Osterode (postcode: 37520) on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event promises to be a thrilling showcase of human and canine athleticism as participants tackle challenging courses designed for both sprinters and endurance runners. Registration opens at 8 AM with the briefing scheduled for 9:30 AM sharp. All competitors must complete their registration by July 10th, 2026, while the final deadline to join is September 10th, 2026. The races will commence promptly at 10 AM. The event features a variety of disciplines under VDH-VP-V/-VP-CC and includes sprint and short courses tailored for different age groups such as youth, adults, and seniors. Sprinters can expect to run approximately 450 meters while the longer course stretches around two to three kilometers in length. Start intervals are set at one minute for general categories (GL) and two minutes for beginners and double starters (BJ/DS). A special Bambinilauf of about 450 meters is also part of the program, offering young participants a chance to experience canicross without formal competition. For those competing in VDH-VP-CC, an additional fee of €5 applies. All competitors will be grouped together for scoring purposes based on their performance across various disciplines and age categories (m/w). Should there not be enough starters within specific classes, organizers reserve the right to merge them accordingly. Entry fees are as follows: a registration cost of €10 per participant with an additional start fee of €10 required for each discipline except VDH-VP-CC which has its own rate. Double starters only need to pay one entry fee. Participants aged 18 and under do not have to pay the start fee but will receive a complimentary meal voucher upon registration. Beate Sprenger serves as the judge, ensuring fair play throughout all events. No refunds will be issued for registration fees. On race day, all attendees must adhere strictly to the venue's rules and regulations while bringing along a valid vaccination certificate, proof of liability insurance, membership card (for DVG members), performance certificates from DVG, and any additional certifications required such as VDH compatibility tests or preliminary canicross assessments if needed. Participants will receive detailed course maps, schedules, and starter lists approximately two weeks before the event via raceresult.
