3. Nübelmarathon

On July 12, 2026, the picturesque town of Nübel will host its third annual Nübel Marathon, offering runners a unique blend of challenging terrain and scenic beauty. This year's race takes place on a hilly course in South Angeln, with stunning views that extend all the way to Schleswig Cathedral.
The marathon route includes sections of military training ground "Langsee," an area usually off-limits to civilians but open exclusively for this event by the Bundeswehr. The weather forecast predicts plenty of sunshine and limited shade along the course, so participants are advised to stay hydrated throughout their run. Water stations spaced approximately every 2.5 kilometers will provide runners with essential fluids as well as snacks like bananas, energy bars, cola, and other refreshments.
The race is a mixed terrain affair, comprising roughly half asphalt roads and half forest paths, fields, and hiking trails. The full marathon distance totals an ambitious 43.2 kilometers, completed over four laps of the same loop course.
