Running enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Kipshagener Teiche Marathon and Ultramarathon, two events that cater to both first-time marathoners and seasoned ultrarunners. The races cover distances of 42.28 km (marathon) and 45.30 km (ultramarathon), all mapped out on GPS for precision. The event is set in the picturesque Kipshagener Teiche Nature Reserve, offering runners a serene environment with mostly flat forest trails that gently undulate over approximately twelve meters per lap. The course consists of either fourteen or fifteen laps, each measuring about 3 kilometers. Registration and briefings begin at 7:45 AM at the Vereinsheim Sportpark am Ölbach in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock. Participants are advised to arrive early for a smooth start, with an estimated eight-hour window allocated for both races. The exact finish time may vary depending on race conditions. The route is clearly marked and passes by the finish line after each lap, allowing runners to refuel or rest if needed. Water stations provide cola, isotonic drinks, still mineral water, salted biscuits, and other light snacks. Upon crossing the finish line, participants will receive a personal completion certificate along with an alcohol-free radler as part of their well-deserved refreshment. Parking is ample at both the Hallenbad near Am Hallenbad 1 in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock and along parts of the race route. Facilities such as toilets are available within the Vereinsheim, which also serves as the starting area for the event. However, there are no changing rooms provided on site. Participants who wish to shower post-race can do so at a nearby Hallenbad but will need to pay an entrance fee: €4 during regular hours (Saturday 08:00-20:00) and €15.50 for access to the sauna from 12:30 PM onwards. The race is timed by both officials and lap counters, ensuring accurate results. Runners have the option of sending their personal finish time photo via email on the same day using their own timing device or app. Official certificates and result lists can later be retrieved online at my.raceresult.com and on the DUV website. This event is organized as a charity marathon in support of Hospiz Haus Zuversicht Bethel, with all proceeds going directly to this cause. No entry fee is required; instead, organizers encourage runners to make donations towards the hospice during registration or through other channels provided by the organizer Johannes Tölke (Jo.Toelke@gmail.com). Participants are reminded that they do so at their own risk and without any insurance coverage from the event's organizers. By signing up, individuals confirm their readiness for the challenge based on personal training and health status. In case of unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather conditions or legal requirements, the race may be rescheduled to another date or canceled outright by the organizer. The minimum number of participants required to hold the event is three according to DUV regulations, with a limit set due to organizational constraints. Join this unique running experience in one of Germany’s most beautiful natural settings while contributing to an important cause through your participation!
