This charming race offers a unique opportunity to explore the town’s rich history and picturesque surroundings while competing in various categories tailored to runners of all ages. The event kicks off with fun runs for young children, including Bambini (ages 3-5) who will enjoy a short lap around the historical center without timekeeping. Older kids can participate in Vorschulkinder and Grundschulkinder races at 12:40 PM and 12:50 PM respectively, both covering a distance of 0.3 kilometers. Scholarship-aged participants have several race options starting from 1:30 PM with the U8 category (born between 2019-2016), followed by U10 races for girls and boys born in 2017/2018, each covering a distance of approximately 1.4 kilometers through town. The event culminates with youth races at 3:30 PM featuring the U14 (born between 2015-2013) and U16 (born in 2012/2011) categories, also covering a distance of about 1.4 kilometers. For older runners, there's an open race for youth aged 18 to 20 years old at 3:30 PM with a longer course spanning approximately 4.2 kilometers around the city and its parkland. The main event is reserved for adults from all age groups who will compete in categories divided into five-year increments, covering a distance of 8.4 kilometers through six laps around Weißenhorn’s historic core and scenic parks. The race promises an engaging mix of paved roads (55%), cobblestone paths (30%) and gravel tracks (15%). All participants are encouraged to register by October 6th for early bird specials, ensuring they receive a medal as well as the chance at special prizes including T-shirts for young athletes who sign up before September 24. The top three finishers in each age group will be awarded trophies. The race's lively atmosphere is enhanced with post-race awards ceremonies and opportunities to celebrate achievements both on and off the track, making it a memorable day out for families and running enthusiasts alike. Participants can enjoy convenient parking near the former bus station at Illerberger Street and access changing rooms and showers within TSV-Halle Weißenhorn. The event is open rain or shine, with electronic timing systems in place to accurately capture each runner's performance. Registration opens soon via RaceResult for a fee of €10 per adult (youth/hobby/walking: €8; children under 7 are free), plus an additional late registration charge if submitted between October 11th and the day before the event.
