The Triathlon Apolda, organized by AC Apolda e.V., is set to take place on August 30, 2026, at the Hans-Geupel-Stadion and Am Sportpark in Apolda. Registration for this event opens on May 1, 2026, with a deadline of August 26, 2026. The Triathlon offers various categories tailored to different age groups and skill levels: For young athletes aged 6-7 years (born in 2020-2019), the SCHÜLER D category features a short swim of just 50 meters, followed by one round of running around Apolda's picturesque park. The cycling distance is kept to half a kilometer. The next age group up, SCHÜLER C (8-9 years old, born in 2018-2017), includes an increase in the swim leg to 100 meters and adds more challenge with one lap of running and four laps on bicycles. Schüler B is designed for athletes aged 10-11 years (born in 2016-2015) and features a double the distance from SCHÜLER C, including two hundred-meter swim segments. For older students aged 12 to 13 (SCHÜLER A), as well as younger teenagers competing in Jugend B or those new to triathlon over the age of twenty, participants will face an even greater challenge with a half-kilometer swim, ten laps on bicycles, and five laps running. The SPRINT-TRIATHLON is open to athletes aged 16 years and above (born before 2010) including juniors up to the age of nineteen who are competing in Jugend A or Junioren categories. This category features a challenging swim leg of 750 meters, followed by twenty laps on bicycles, and concludes with five laps running. Competitors can also participate as part of a four-person team in the STAFFEL-TRIATHLON, which follows identical distances to the SPRINT-TRIATHLON but emphasizes teamwork. The event day begins at 7:45 AM when registration opens for athletes and spectators alike. The first wave starts at 9:00 AM with Sprint/Staffel categories followed by subsequent waves throughout the morning. Entry fees vary depending on age group, ranging from €15 to €60 before July 31st, increasing slightly thereafter. Additionally, a late registration fee of €5 will be charged for those signing up on event day. Prize awards are given in several categories including individual placements and team performance across all divisions.
