About the Event

Welcome to the 38th edition of the Porta-Volkslauf, where runners from all corners gather for an unforgettable day filled with community spirit and scenic routes around Nammer Sportplatz. This year’s race is part of the popular Mühlenkreis series as its eighth installment and promises a unique blend of challenging terrain and stunning natural beauty.
The event offers something for everyone, whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely run or compete fiercely for top spots. The race routes wind through both paved paths in Nammer Unterholz and scenic countryside trails surrounding the sport complex. Participants will have the chance to experience breathtaking views as they navigate around Porta Westfalica-Nammen.
The day kicks off with fun runs designed especially for young athletes: a 0.8 km course for children under ten starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a 1.6 km race for kids aged 10 to 15 and teenagers up to age 17 beginning promptly at 10:20 AM.
Main events include a short distance of 5.5 kilometers (starting at 11:45 AM), an intermediate course covering 8.8 kilometers (beginning at 11:35 AM) and the longest stretch, which spans 17 kilometers (launching at 11:30 AM). Each route presents a unique challenge with varying terrain that tests runners' endurance while offering spectacular natural vistas.
Race timing is handled by RaceResult systems. Participants in the Mühlenkreis series can use their existing race numbers without needing to register separately for this event.
Entry fees vary depending on age and distance:
- Adults: €8 if registered beforehand, €10 at the venue.
- Youth (U16 & U18): €4 if pre-registered, €6 otherwise; those aged 12-15 run free with advance sign-up but pay a nominal fee of €4 on-site.
- Children under 12: Free registration in advance, or €2 at the event.
Post-race facilities include changing rooms and showers available near Nammer Sportplatz. Spectators are advised to check local parking guidelines for ease of access during race day.
