About the Event

The Over the River Run is set to take place on October 10th and offers runners an unforgettable experience along the historic Old Mississippi River Bridge. Participants can choose between a challenging 5-mile run or walk, starting at I-20 and Washington Street in Vicksburg.
For those looking for a fun-filled day with their little ones, there's also a special 1-mile Fun Run just for kids. This event is perfect for families to enjoy together while exploring the scenic beauty of the Mississippi River.
The race begins early on October 10th at 8:00 am sharp, followed by the children’s run shortly after. The course winds along the iconic bridge, providing stunning views and a unique atmosphere that highlights the rich history and natural splendor of Vicksburg.
Participants are required to sign waivers in person during packet pick-up on October 9th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the SCHF Auditorium located at Crawford & Cherry Street. Alternatively, you can collect your packets directly before the race starts at the designated site near I-20 and Washington Street.
Parking is available nearby at both Ameristar Hotel and Casino for added convenience. The event is organized by MS Race Timing in collaboration with the Mississippi Track Club as part of their Grand Prix series, ensuring a well-managed and exciting day out on the course.
All proceeds from this race go directly to support the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation (SCHF), which works tirelessly to preserve the cultural heritage of Vicksburg. Entry fees are $35 for adults until September 18th, while kids can join in for just $20 during the same period. Please note that no refunds or mailed packets and awards will be provided.
